Restaurant and Retailer Education Opportunities

As part of the Coastal Alliance for Aquaculture Reforms' efforts we are helping chefs and restaurants learn more about the impacts of farmed salmon and how to go farmed salmon free. The CAAR Markets Team is offering staff education sessions in the Vancouver/San Francisco area. We can give your staff an informative, clear and concise overview of the farmed salmon issue and provide scientifically sound answers to questions your customers may ask.

Our team will tailor a presentation depending on your staffs’ current understanding of the issues. Typically we cover the environmental and social issues related to farmed salmon including:

  • Farmed salmon and health
  • Impacts of salmon farming on wild salmon
  • Ecological implications of salmon farming
  • Community concerns with salmon farming
  • Moving towards solutions and the role of restaurants and chefs as opinion leaders
  • Sustainable alternatives to open net-cage farmed salmon

The Markets Team staff will conduct a Q & A session and provide reproducible education materials for your staff. Contact the Markets Team at info@farmedanddangerous.org to set an education session for your establishment.
