Our website is designed to enable you take action and help protect threatened wild salmon. Because of this, some areas of the site require personal identification such as names and addresses in order to effectively and legitimately communicate individual’s concerns to decision makers. This information is required on correspondence with decision makers to authenticate your letters, and to receive a written response.
We provide you with the option to become a member of CAAR by subscribing to our e-newsletter and action alerts. If you choose to become a supporter, the personal information you provide is stored in a secure location and is accessible only by designated staff. It will never be sold . We will not disclose this information to others except to send it, along with your message, to the targeted government or corporate officials you have chosen to communicate with through our systems at your request.
When you become a member of CAAR you will receive updates, action alerts and newsletters from us. We endeavor not to send more than one email to you each month. These alerts rarely contain an appeal for donations. We will not send more than one message a year that contains an appeal for donations.
You may make a request to be removed from our membership list. These requests will be processed as soon as possible and within a 30 day period at most.
In each case, you will always have the option of unsubscribing from mailings lists, and on request, CAAR will be pleased to erase all record of your personal information from our secure server.
From time to time, CAAR may trade your name with other carefully screened, like-minded organizations form the social justice or environmental community for limited use. If you don’t want your name to be traded, please contact us. Be sure to provide your full name, so we can make a notation in our file about your request.
